Children's author creating stories in memory her dog attending signing event in Kenilworth
A children's author who creates stories in memory her dog will be attending a signing event in Kenilworth this month.
Anne Roberts, who is from Rednal in the West Midlands, is the author behind The Adventures of Stitch series.
Stitch goes to the Park was published in March and Stitch's Christmas was published in July and they are aimed at children aged between two and five years old.
Anne was inspired to create the children’s books in memory of her dog.

She said: “My inspiration came from a real-life dog called Stitch. He passed away in December 2023 aged 14 and a half. He was my first dog and our much-loved family dog.
“I used to write a column about Stitch's adventures in a work newsletter several years ago, and to help me cope with the grief of losing him, I decided to write a children's book.”
She added: “I published The Adventures of Stitch to keep Stitch’s memory alive and to give children the chance to love him as much as I did.”
Anne will be attending a signing event at Kenilworth Books in Talisman Square on Saturday September 19 from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

She said: “I am looking forward to meeting lots of children and grown-ups at the signing event and sharing my story about Stitch.”
Anne added: “I've received so much lovely feedback from parents, grandparents and relatives telling me how much their young people enjoy my books.
“My first book has helped a child with a speech delay, so much so, it has gone into his communication book at nursery. This gives me the inspiration to write more books for the series.”
Charlotte Vaughan, manager at Kenilworth Books said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Anne Roberts and her lovely The Adventures of Stitch stories into the bookshop for a signing in September.”
