Warwick Rotary presented its annual Meritorious Service Award to Viv Morgan on Wednesday April 1st, in recognition of her work setting up Northleigh House school for bullied children in Hatton.

The school offers a safe calm and nurturing environment where children can reclaim their self-esteem and resume their education, some return to mainstream schools, obtain qualifications and enter further education.

Together with her husband Fred, in 2011 they turned their large home into a school, and have recently acquired another property – Northleigh Mill.

Fred & Viv were presented with a Pride of Britain award in 2015, and Viv was awarded an MBE in 2019. Viv says ‘Childhood days should be happy, carefree and safe”, the school, motto “Overcoming barriers for bullied children”, takes children between the ages of 11-19 and is a charitable trust receiving funding from the local authorities.

President Jon Wassall said that she is a worthy recipient of the clubs annual Meritorious Award for her work, and presented her with a framed certificate and a cheque for £200 towards the school’s development.
