Recycling information

Warwick District Council has provided the following information for recycling certain items during this period.

Recycling wrapping paper and Christmas cards

Wrapping paper and Christmas cards can be recycled in the blue-lidded bin.

Foil wrapping paper, glittery wrapping paper, glittery cards, ribbons, bows and tape cannot be recycled.

Extra recycling

Residents can put extra recycling in a sturdy container or red box and place it beside the blue-lidded wheeled bin.

The council cannot collect any extra waste from the grey bin or food caddy. Residents should make sure that all waste is inside the bin.

Christmas tree recycling

The council will be collecting real Christmas trees from January 9 to 23 – and resident do not need to have a garden waste permit subscription to have trees collected.

All lights and decorations need to be removed and any tree more than 5ft tall must be cut in half.

Alternatively, those with a garden waste subscription can chop it up and put it in the bin.

Trees can also be taken to the recycling centres at Princes Drive in Leamington or Cherry Orchard in Kenilworth.

Charity Christmas tree collections

Alternatively, in return for a charity donation, volunteers will collect and recycle real trees between January 9 and 1, with proceeds going to The Myton Hospices Pass the Smile.
