Kenilworth couple mark their Golden Wedding Anniversary with family and friends
A couple from Kenilworth recently marked 50 years of marriage, known as the Golden Wedding Anniversary, with their family and friends.
Jean and Gordon Henderson’s milestone anniversary took place on December 12.
To mark their anniversary, they had a family weekend in Canterbury and a few days later, a meal with friends in Leamington.
The couple met in Nottingham and got married in Scotland in 1975.
They have lived in Kenilworth since 2014 and are involved in various groups in the community.
Gordon has been volunteering for the Kenilworth Lions for more than 15 years and Jean is the treasurer for the repair cafe and is a member of a quilting club. She has also crocheted blankets and other items for the local hospital neonatal wards.
They have two sons Ian, who is married to Nicola and Paul who is married to Bryony.
Jean and Gordon also have four grandchildren Freya, Thomas, Eva and Iona – who all say “grandma's jam tarts are the best”
