Ten-hour yellow weather warning in place for ice across Warwickshire as temperatures drop
A 10-hour yellow weather warning has been issued for ice across Warwickshire, as temperatures are set to drop.
The Met Office has issued the warning, which is in place from midnight until 10am on Wednesday January 28 and includes most of the midlands as well as the east and north of the country and much of Scotland.
The warning has been put in place after most of the UK was hit with strong winds and heavy rain on Monday night through to Tuesday morning due to Storm Chandra.
Although Warwickshire experienced the heavy rain and strong winds, it was not in an area with a weather warning in place.

For the ice warning for Wednesday, the Met Office said: “Clearing skies Tuesday night will allow temperatures to fall below freezing soon after midnight and on Wednesday morning. After the recent wet weather, icy patches are likely to develop on some untreated surfaces.”
Warnings have been issued about patchy ice forming, which may lead to some disruption. The Met Office also warns of some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces and some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
Residents are advised to plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier, as “not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls”.
